Dakgalbi is a delicious, spicy grilled chicken dish that's a popular choice for friends who are getting together to go out to eat. It's a natively communal dish that's always shared among a small, intimate group of people, so it naturally stimulates conversation and a good time. It's pretty much impossible to eat dakgalbi in silence!
When you go to a restaurant with your friends and family and order dakgalbi, they'll bring out a large skillet filled with the dakgalbi ingredients as well as some side dishes. While the skillet cooks on the tabletop, you and your friends can munch on side dishes and talk, and maybe order some drinks, too. The dakgalbi will cook nicely and the waitress will tell you: "Now you can eat!"
When you're almost completely finished, you can ask the waitress: "We'd like some stir-fried rice please." She'll bring out some rice, mix it with the leavings in the skillet, and quickly fry up some spicy, stir fried rice. She might divide the rice into portions and serve it to everyone at the table, or she might just leave it in the pan and let everyone dig in. For many people I know, this is their favorite part!

Ingredients:
1 pound of deboned drumsticks (the video shows how to debone them), or chicken breast
3 tablespoons of soy sauce
10 cloves of peeled garlic, minced
1 tablespoon minced ginger
¼ cup hot pepper paste (gochujang)
â…" cup hot pepper flakes (gochugaru)
½ cup cooking wine (mirim) or water-sugar solution (½ cup water and 1 teaspoon sugar)
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 pound cabbage, rinsed, cut into bite sized pieces
1 medium onion (about 1 cup), sliced
5 oz (1cup) rice cake (garaeddeok), cut into 2 inch long pieces
5 oz (1 cup) sweet potato, peeled and sliced into bite sized pieces
1 small carrot (½ cup), sliced
2 green chili peppers, sliced
2 dozen perilla leaves

Description
In the Western world, curry powder mixtures tend to have a fairly standardised taste, though a great variety of spice mixtures are used in Indian cuisine. Indian cooks often have readier access to a variety of fresh spices than their foreign counterparts. Some curry cooks will have their own specific mixtures for different recipes.
History
Curry powder was largely popularised during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries through the mass export of the condiment to the western table throughout Europe and North and South America, and through its use in British Army nations. Curry powder did not become standardised, as many of the original blends of curry powder were still available throughout the world. The late 1960s and early 1970s saw a growth of Indian-based food consumption in the west and internationally. This led to an increase of Indian restaurants throughout the world. The tradition of keeping special blends of curry powder simply became uneconomical, and curry powder became increasingly standardised outside India.
Ingredients
Most curry powder recipes include coriander, turmeric, cumin, fenugreek, and red pepper in their blends. Depending on the recipe, additional ingredients such as ginger, garlic, asafoetida, fennel seed, caraway, cinnamon, clove, mustard seed, green cardamom, black cardamom, nutmeg, long pepper, and black pepper may also be included. However, the Portuguese importation of the chilli pepper from Brazil and their mixing of other Asian spices enabled the development of 'curi'.

Pasta Recipes: French Cooking? Italian Cooking? Pasta Con Le Escargo
Basically as stated Escargots are land snails that are cooked in eaten and usually served as a started in fine French cooking venues. Escargot is the French word for snail as cargol or caracol is the Spanish word for snail. Not all snails are created equal and therefore not all snails are used in French cooking or in Italian cooking either. The standard species of escargot that is utilized in French cooking is called Helix Pomatia and there is also the Helix Aspersia or "Petit-Gris" and the Helix Lucorum.
In French cooking the varieties of eaten snails are first purged(Purging the escargot is a matter of starving them for a time to create hunger in them and then feeding the escargot something healthy like cereal or cornmeal. This process helps the escargot to clean and purge the undesirable elements from their digestive tracts to make them suitable for consumption.) then killed and removed from the shell and cooked in garlic and butter in French cooking or in red wine or beer/ale in other cultures such as the Maltese or Sicilian cultures and then are put back into their shells for presentation purposes and then the sauce poured over the snails for serving. The eater of the snails is then provided with a special set of snail tongs to hold the shell and a snail fork to remove the escargot from the shell to be eaten. Your average serving of escargot is between 6 and 12 escargot.
There is more to snails then just French cooking or even Italian cooking as there arm many varieties of snails from around the world being eaten in different ways. Whether in Italian cooking or French cooking snails are considered a gourmet food. In countries like Africa the giant land snails are produced for food commercially. There are sea snails, land snails and fresh water snails that are harvested for food in places like the Phillipines, Spain, Algeria, Morocco, Sicily, Portugal, Greece, Vietnam, Loas, Cambodia, even China and parts of India. It's just amazing!

Ingredients
12 -16 ounces linguine or fettucine
5 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 to 1 Cup of chicken stock
½ to 1 medium red onion finely chopped
1/2 lb any kind of mushroom, cleaned and stalks trimmed*
6 anchovy fillets, straight from the tin, not rinsed, chopped
2 to 3 tablespoon garlic, finely chopped ( or more, to taste)
2 tablespoons lemon juice ( freshly squeezed, or use lime juice which is even better)
2-4 Tbsp. Thick sour cream.
14 ounces snails ( usually 2 x 200g tins for me, i.e. 400 g)
3 tablespoons basil, finely chopped or 1 Tbsp. Dried basil will work to.
1/2 cup walnuts toasted in a pan, chopped
4 tablespoons gorgonzola cheese
some sliced format pecorino or romano cheese
1 tablespoon black or white pepper, coarse ( or more)
1/2 teaspoon salt ( to taste)
1 Tsp. Crushed oregano
2 Tbsp. Rinsed capers or kalamata olives rough chop or whole.
Directions
1. Put a fairly deep serving dish in a warming oven to heat.
2. Fill a large pot with water, add salt, and put on to boil for the pasta.
3. Heat the oil and fry the onions until just soft.
4. Slice the mushrooms and add. (You can use any type of mushrooms available to you).
5. Keep the heat quite high and let the mushrooms cook through.
Note: Mushrooms absorb liquid and oil so use the chicken stock to keep some juices in the pan to continue cooking the sauce or the mushrooms will absorb everything in the pan.
6. Take 6 anchovies out of flat and chop.
7. Don't worry about the fishy or salty flavor of the anchovies you won't notice it in the end result of this dish.
8. Add the chopped anchovies to the onion and mushrooms, add garlic, and stir through.
9. Add your lemon juice to the onion, mushrooms and garlic.
10. Reduce heat of your stove to low, and add the sour cream into the mixutre stir in well.
11. Add the drained snails and stir through until everything is hot and the sauce comes to a bare simmer and thickens.
12. Remove from heat and carefully fork in the parsley, walnuts, Parmesan and pepper.
13. Add salt, stir, and taste: it might need more salt. You might also want to add more lemon juice.
14. Cover with a lid, pull aside, and now cook the spaghetti until al dente -- usually no more than 8 - 11 minutes.
15. Drain the spaghetti in a colander, then top back into its large pot. Add the snail sauce and fold in well and evenly.
16. Take out the warmed serving dish, and tip in the whole lot.
17. You could carve over more parmesan shavings, scatter with extra parsley, and sprinkle with finely chopped spring onions.

This is a great recipe that utilizes leftovers and fresh ingredients!
Serving Size: 1 person
Ingredients:
- 1 sprouted tortilla (we recommend Ezekiel 4:9 Sprouted Grain Tortillas)
- fresh herbs
- few slices of sweet onion
- hummus
- roasted carrots (leftover or freshly made)
- lettuce or other salad greens like spring greens, arugula, or kale
- few slices of avocado
Directions:
- Spread a couple dollops of hummus in the middle of the tortilla (as shown in the video)
- Layout roasted carrots to one side (as show in the video)
- Add fresh herbs and onion slices
- Add lettuce (or other greens)
- Add avocado slices
- Wrap tortilla like a burrito (as show in the video)
- Ready to serve! Happy Eating!

The piña colada is a sweet, rum-based cocktail made with rum, cream of coconut, and pineapple juice, usually served either blended or shaken with ice. It may be garnished with a pineapple wedge, a maraschino cherry or both. The piña colada has been the official beverage of Puerto Rico since 1978.
Origin
The name Piña Colada literally means 'strained pinecone', but 'strained pineapple' as a phrase - a reference to the freshly pressed and strained pineapple juice used in the drink's preparation.
Three Puerto Rican bartenders contest the ownership of their national drink. Ramón 'Monchito' Marrero Pérez claims to have first made it at the Caribe Hilton Hotel's Beachcomber Bar in San Juan on 15 August 1952, using the then newly-available Coco López cream of coconut. Coco López was developed in Puerto Rico in 1948 by Don Ramón López-Irizarry, hence the Puerto Rican connection and the 1952 account of the drink's creation. Some say the drink did acquire its name until the 1960s.
Ricardo GarcÃa, who also worked at the Caribe, says that it was he who invented the drink, while Ramón Portas Mingot says he created it in 1963 at the Barrachina Restaurant, 104 Fortaleza Street, Old San Juan; the restaurant stands by his claim to this day.
The Caribe Hilton Hotel sits on a 17-acre peninsula outside San Juan and was the first luxury hotel to open in the region, becoming a popular destination for the rich and famous who helped spread word of the drink.
A key ingredient for a 'Puerto Rican' style Piña Colada is 'cream of coconut', not be confused with coconut cream ('Cuban' style Piña Colada contains no coconut cream). Cream of coconut is made by mixing coconut juice, sugar, emulsifier, cellulose, thickeners, citric acid and salt and is sold in 15oz/425ml cans which make 14 to 25 drinks depending on taste. Once opened the can's contents should be stored in a refrigerator: this may thicken the product, so gentle warming may be required prior to use.
National Piña Colada Day is celebrated on the islands on 10 July.
Other stories
The earliest known story states that in the 19th century, Puerto Rican pirate Roberto Cofresà (El Pirata CofresÃ), to boost his crew's morale, gave them a beverage or cocktail that contained coconut, pineapple and white rum. This was what would be later known as the famous piña colada. With his death in 1825, the recipe for the piña colada was lost.
The earliest known reference to a drink specifically called a piña colada is from TRAVEL magazine, December 1922:
This quote describes a drink without coconut, as the piña colada was originally just the juice of a fresh pineapple served either strained (colada) or unstrained (sin colar). This evolved into a rum drink, and finally it changed into the drink we know today.
Barcelona-born Hilton employee Ricardo Gracia claims to have invented the contended drink in 1954 under a series of fortuitous circumstances. Rumor has it that while Gracia worked at the Caribe Hilton in San Juan de Puerto Rico, the coconut cutters' union decided to strike. Until that moment, the Puerto Rican drink of choice had been the popular Coco-Loco, a mix of coconut milk, rum and coconut cream served inside a fresh macheted coconut. When the coconut supply was halted by the strike, resourceful Ricardo Gracia made the executive decision to relocate the ingredients of the Coco-Loco inside hollowed out pineapples (evidently the pineapple cutters' union had not followed suit with a strike of their own). Once the coconut flavor and rum came into contact with the sweet acidity of the pineapple pulp, the piña colada was inevitably born.

Popularity
This cocktail has been famous in Puerto Rico since 1978, and it became more widely known after Rupert Holmes released his song "Escape", commonly known as "The Piña Colada Song".
Preparation
There are many recipes of how to make a piña colada but the one that his friends tell in the book of José L. DÃaz de Villegas to be the original recipe created by Monchito, is the following:
"Pour 3 ounces of coconut cream, 6 ounces of pineapple juice and 1½ ounces of white rum into a blender or shaker with crushed ice, and blend or shake very well until smooth. Pour into chilled glass, garnish with pineapple wedge and/or a maraschino cherry."
Variations
Different proportions may be used. For example, 1 part rum, 2 each of pineapple juice and coconut cream.
Dark rum may be used.
Amaretto colada â€" amaretto substituted for rum
Lava Flow â€" strawberry daiquiri and piña colada blended together
Staten Island Ferry â€" coconut rum and pineapple juice over ice
Virgin piña colada or piñita colada â€" without the rum
