Easy Monterey Jack Mornay Sauce
This is the sauce that I made to go atop my Florentine Fish Roll Ups. This sauce is very easy and begins with a simple Bechamel which is a basic white sauce.
Start with a roux of equal parts flour and butter and cook until thick and bubbly. I used 1/4 cup of butter and 1/4 cup all purpose flour. I added in 2 cups of milk and whisked until thickened. Then I added 2 cups of shredded Jack cheese and stirred until smooth. I ended up adding an additional 1/2 cup of milk to achieve the consistency I desired. I then ladled it over the roll ups for a wonderful meal!
This sauce can be used to make Kentucky Hot Brown sandwiches, macaroni and cheese or even a cheese fondue! You can use this in many ways!
