Why save a great steak dinner for the weekends? This easy, casual steak recipe is ideal for weeknights. Like, say, tonight! What really makes this sandwich something special is the rich, caramelized shallots. Just thinking about them makes my mouth water!

It all starts with boneless New York strip steaks. To make the creamy shallots you'll need olive oil, shallots, heavy cream, and Dijon mustard. Assemble on sandwich rolls with baby arugula, and there's dinner!

Recipe Ingredients:

2 boneless New York strip steaks (3/4 inch thick; 1 1/2 pounds total), excess fat trimmed

Salt and pepper

1 tablespoon olive oil

4 large shallots, thinly sliced (2 cups)

1/3 cup heavy cream

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

4 sandwich rolls, split and toasted

2 cups baby arugula
