This is kind of what I was trying to replicate, but my coffin was too small!

I used a brownie mix for this but any brownie/chocolate cake recipe will do.

Note about the cookie cutter:

I cut a piece 2 inches wide marking the center with a line and then I folded it in half. I formed the shape of the cookie cutter and then stapled it. This left one folded over side and one side that had the cut edges. I used the cut edges down and cut out the shapes because the cut edges were sharper and may have been hard on the fingers. The problem with this is that there is a tiny space between the cut edges and brownie gets stuck in there. This is okay if you plan on throwing the cutter in the recycling bin after you are done, but if you want to keep it, it may be difficult (but not impossible) to wash.

The next time I try this will do the following:

Cut a piece 4 inches wide, marking the piece lengthways every inch. Folding both edges into the center and then folding in half to make one long piece 1 inch wide. Forming the piece to the desired shape and stapling. Then using the "single" edge to cut into the cookie/brownie. If you press the cutter piece very flat during the forming stage the edge should be sharp enough to cut cookie dough well enough.

If the above instructions are confusing, I will try to do another demo of this technique again. I think I will try to make my own burro (donkey) cutters to try those pinata cookies I have seen so often on Pinterest.
